Frequently Asked Questions

Submitting App

1. How do I get an application and submit it? When is the application due?

You can find our RSVP application here! You must fill out the Google form to RSVP which can also be found on your admission portal page or this tinyurl (tinyurl.com/UCLASEATED24). Be sure to fill out all necessary information and submit the application by Friday, May 3rd @11:59pm.

2. How much does it cost to attend SEATED?

Everything is completely FREE! Free transportation is provided from various locations throughout Los Angeles County and Orange County, and all admits will be given free UCLA and SEATED merchandise.

3. I really cannot go. Are there any other events I can check out?

That is perfectly fine! We will be recording the workshops so if you cannot make it, you will still receive access to all the resources later on this website. There is also UCLA's Transfer Bruin Day, where you can come check out UCLA in-person. You can check out the website at https://bruinday.ucla.edu/.

4. What is Bruin Day?

UCLA Bruin Day is our campus’ exclusive annual event for admitted transfers and their guests, with faculty presentations, academic and financial aid resources, and campus and housing tours. SEATED takes place the day before Bruin Day, and offers an exclusive look into the Southeast Asian community while offering personal mentorship.

5. I’m still unsure about committing to UCLA, should I still attend SEATED?

Yes! Attending the event is a great way to help you decide whether UCLA is the right school for you. You’ll get to meet current students as well as admitted transfer students to truly see how community, advocacy, and education intertwine.

6. Why is it a Southeast Asian Transfer Enrichment Day?

Southeast Asians, specifically Burmese, Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian, Mien, Malaysian, Thai, Vietnamese, Khmer, Asian Pacific, Indonesian, as well as Chinese from Southeast Asia, are historically underrepresented at UCLA and other colleges and universities. This is mainly due to our immigration history, with the majority of Southeast Asians arriving in the 1970s and after. Because of this, many Southeast Asians who attend college or universities are first generation students. In order to ensure that our voices are heard, and our struggles and experiences shared, we want to increase the number of SEA students at UCLA by hosting this special Southeast Asian Transfer Enrichment Day. Our goal is to foster a cohesive, educated community to better ourselves, our families, and our community.

7. What are the chances of me being accepted?

Generally, if you put your best effort into providing thoughtful responses on the application, we will most likely accept you, space permitting.

8. I can’t attend the entire program but I really want to go, can I still attend?

If you wish to attend but cannot participate in the entirety of the program for any reason, please email us at getseated.outreach@gmail.com about your situation and concerns and we will try our best to ensure that you will still have an amazing experience at SEATED.

9. Who do I contact if I have more questions?

If you have any further questions, you may email us at getseated.outreach@gmail.com.
